Nollywood actress and producer Mimisola Daniel has declared that when it comes to love, she wears her heart on her sleeve. The talented storyteller, whose latest film “Tori Ife” has racked up over a million views on YouTube, admits she can be a “mumu for love” — as long as it’s real, healthy, and respectful.
In this exclusive chat with Potpourri, Mimisola opens up about her journey in Nollywood, her views on love, relationships, and what beauty and success mean to her.
When asked how far she can go for love, Mimisola doesn’t hold back.
“I’m a lover girl to the core. I can go far for love, as long as it’s healthy and respectful,” she says with a laugh. “When the connection is real, I’m all in… and yes, I can even be a mumu for love o!”
For her, love isn’t about money or power but genuine emotional connection. She also shares her opinion on the trending “sugar daddy” narrative among single ladies. “Everyone has different choices and circumstances,” she explains. “But personally, I believe in independence. I prefer relationships built on mutual respect, not financial dependence.
A storyteller with passion
“At first, I was drawn to entertainment because I just wanted to be a star and blow up, honestly. But as I grew, I realized I wanted to use creativity to connect with people, tell meaningful stories, and make a real impact.”
Her passion for storytelling has driven her steady rise in the industry, where she has worked both in front of and behind the camera to bring relatable stories to life.
The highs and lows of social media
For Mimisola, social media has been both a blessing and a challenge.
“My best experience online has been connecting with people who genuinely support my work,” she says. “It reminds me how powerful social media can be for building community.”
But fame comes with its darker sides. “Dealing with negativity and criticism online can be tough. I don’t have that thick skin yet, so sometimes I take a break to breathe and refocus,” she admits candidly.
Navigating Nollywood friendships
The actress is quick to dismiss the idea that Nollywood is full of fake friends. “I’ve heard people say that, but I don’t really keep close friends in the industry,” she notes. “I stay friendly and respectful but prefer to keep my circle small and my focus on growth.”
imisola’s first acting role was small, but it was enough to light a fire in her. “It was just a scene, but I was head over heels!” she recalls. “That moment confirmed that acting was truly my path.”
Though she doesn’t have a direct mentor, Mimisola finds inspiration from observing the best in the game. “Watching how some actors handle their craft, professionalism, and consistency has inspired me to stay focused and keep improving.”
When it comes to matters of the heart, Mimisola’s standards are clear. “I look for a man who is God-fearing, honest, and respectful,” she says. “I love a good sense of humor, ambition, and someone who can support and inspire me while sharing similar values.”
On body enhancement and beauty
As a skincare expert, Mimisola has strong yet open-minded views about beauty and body enhancement.
“Body enhancement is a personal choice. If it makes someone feel confident, that’s their decision,” she says. “For me, I’m happy with my natural self for now, but never say never — maybe in the future, who knows?” she adds playfully.
To her, true beauty goes beyond looks. “Real beauty is about healthy skin, confidence, and self-care. Beauty can help a woman stand out, but lasting success depends on talent, effort, and resilience.”
Life, career, and soft life dreams
Despite her growing fame, Mimisola keeps her expectations grounded. “Thank God, acting is paying, though I’m not yet where I want to be,” she says. “But I’m definitely not where I used to be.” Then, with a mischievous smile, she adds, “And hey, if a sugar zaddy comes along — I want this soft life abeg!”
With her charm, honesty, and undeniable passion for storytelling, Mimisola Daniel continues to carve her niche in Nollywood. Whether she’s playing a romantic lead or producing her next hit film, one thing is clear — when it comes to love, life, and success, she’s all heart.
