Petrol and cooking gas prices declined year-on-year in December 2025, reinforcing a broader easing in household energy costs, according to separate reports released by the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS.

Data from the NBS showed that both Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG, used for cooking, and Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, commonly known as petrol, recorded notable price drops compared with December 2024, alongside modest month-on-month declines.

The statistics agency said the downward trend was evident across most states and geopolitical zones, although price levels still varied widely depending on location.
