Fashion designers, stylists, and key figures in Nigeria’s fashion and media industry gathered at Canvas Garden, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, on Friday, March 19, 2026, for the launch of The Fashion Roundtable, a new long-form interview series by media personality and entrepreneur Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi.

The show, which premiered on YouTube, is positioned as a platform for in-depth conversations with individuals shaping Nigeria’s fashion industry. It aims to move beyond surface-level storytelling by focusing on the realities behind the work, including business challenges, creative processes, and personal journeys.

Speaking at the launch event, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi highlighted the need for more honest and structured conversations within the fashion space, particularly at a time when Nigerian fashion is gaining increasing global attention. According to her, the series was created to document the voices and experiences of industry players who are often seen but rarely heard in depth.

“I created The Fashion Roundtable because I wanted a space to have real, honest conversations with the people who are shaping Nigeria’s fashion industry,” Gbemi said. “Nigerian fashion is getting so much attention globally, and now feels like the perfect time to share these voices and their stories.” Said Gbemi.

The launch event drew a strong turnout from across the fashion ecosystem. Fashion designers, Mai Atafo, Toju Foyeh, Lady Beelionaire Luxury, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Aanuoluwa Ajide-Daniels of Aso, stylists, Rhoda Ebun and Zack Aminu.

Media and entertainment personalities, including Mo’Cheddah, Jay on Air, Lamide Akintobi, Bolanle Olukanni and Mimi Onalaja; fashion influencers, Nonye Udeogu, Noble Igwe and many more, all gathered in a space and catered to by Highland Park Single Malt Whisky, whose signature pours added a fitting touch to the evening.

The event also featured a fireside chat with Mai Atafo and Toju Foyeh, as well as an interactive question-and-answer session with attendees.

The Fashion Roundtable is expected to feature a range of industry voices, including designers, stylists, and entrepreneurs, with a focus on documenting the structure and evolution of Nigeria’s fashion industry.

Episode 1 is now streaming exclusively on YouTube. In it, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi sits down with stylists Swazzi and Zack Styling for an unfiltered conversation about their craft, the industry, and everything in between.
