NUC Approves Five New Health Programmes for Wellspring University, ,

Wellspring University has secured the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence five new undergraduate health programmes from the 2026/2027 academic session, following a successful resource verification exercise by a panel of experts from the commission.

The newly approved programmes are Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), B.Sc. Human Anatomy, B.Sc. Human Physiology, Bachelor of Health Information Management (BHIM), and Bachelor of Community Health Science (B.CHS).

The university described the approval as another significant milestone in its drive to expand academic offerings in the health sciences and strengthen its contribution to national development.

The institution in a statement, said that the approval reflects the NUC’s confidence in its academic resources, infrastructure, governance and overall capacity to deliver quality university education in line with national standards.

It said that the introduction of the programmes would enhance its ability to produce highly skilled healthcare professionals capable of improving healthcare delivery and supporting Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

The institution added that the expansion underscores its commitment to academic excellence and innovation, while responding to the growing demand for quality health sciences education in the country.
