Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq joined residents in celebrating an impressive victory by four young pupils from Kwara, who clinched the President’s School Debate Championship on Thursday in Abuja.

This marks the third consecutive win for the state under Governor Abdulrazaq’s administration, underscoring Kwara’s strong commitment to advancing public education.

Representing Kwara in the competition were 10-year-old Ajibulu Esther from Tanke LGEA School B (Ilorin South LGA), 12-year-old Akanbi Al-Amin from St. Cyprian LGEA Primary School (Offa LGA), 12-year-old Paul Unity from Bishop Smith LGEA School A (Ilorin East LGA), and 12-year-old Abdulrahman Fatimoh from Okesuna LGEA Primary School A (Ilorin East LGA). The team displayed remarkable talent and preparation, defeating Benue State in the finals and surpassing several other states in preliminary rounds.

Praising the young champions, Governor Abdulrazaq commended their hard work and dedication, which has earned them national recognition and set them on a path toward international success.

“This feat, like the previous ones, serves to strengthen our commitment to continue to invest in public school education—the surest way to secure a place for the Kwara child among their peers worldwide,” the Governor said. “These feats reassure us that we are on the right path, and we thank our pupils, teachers, parents, and all stakeholders in the public school system for their hard work and support.”

Governor Abdulrazaq specifically lauded Prof. Sheu Raheem Adaramaja and his team at the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for their dedication, saying, “This, again, is another win for everyone, and we cannot drop the ball.”

Looking ahead, the Governor expressed hope for the future success of the young champions. He said, “I look forward to seeing the champions at the very top,” and prayed for their continued health and success as they pursue their dreams.
