“Prioritise education as the foundation for national growth and development” — CPE urges Federal Government

The Concerned Parents and Educators (CPE), a leading advocacy group dedicated to enhancing educational standards, has urged the federal government to make education a top priority for national development.

“We believe it is crucial for the government to recognize that the growth of our country is fundamentally linked to the strength of our educational system,” stated Mrs. Yinka Ogunde, the Coordinator for CPE.

Highlighting the broader implications of educational investment, Ogunde asserted, “We believe that education is not merely about individual success; it is the bedrock upon which a thriving society is built.”

CPE emphasizes the necessity of a strategic approach to education, insisting that the government must adequately invest in the education of children today to achieve meaningful growth and development.

“This investment will define our national growth and development. By equipping our youth with the necessary skills and knowledge, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future,” Ogunde added.

The advocacy group also pointed to the crucial role of education in addressing societal issues.

“If the government is deliberate to reduce the prevalence of social challenges, our youth must be offered constructive opportunities through education. Education serves as an essential platform for individuals to lead productive and meaningful lives,” they argued.

CPE is advocating for a comprehensive educational framework that transcends traditional learning models.

“Our vision extends beyond mere formal education. We aim to prepare our students to compete on a global scale.

As the world advances, our educational policies must evolve to meet these new realities,” Ogunde emphasized. To this end, CPE is calling for specific governmental actions to enhance educational outcomes, including enhanced teacher development through prioritizing the welfare and professional growth of educators, improved infrastructure to create effective learning environments, student support programmes for holistic development, and consistency in educational policies to provide clear guidance for students and educators.

“CPE firmly believes that the government must realize that the world is rapidly evolving. If we fail to plan and prioritize education today, we will only continue to face societal challenges. The time to act is now,” Ogunde concluded.
