{"id":14442,"date":"2025-10-13T13:50:25","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T13:50:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edumarkng.com\/news\/prof-akan-williams-emerges-vc-ritman-university-akwa-ibom\/"},"modified":"2025-10-13T13:50:25","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T13:50:25","slug":"prof-akan-williams-emerges-vc-ritman-university-akwa-ibom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/edumarkng.com\/news\/prof-akan-williams-emerges-vc-ritman-university-akwa-ibom\/","title":{"rendered":"Prof Akan Williams emerges VC, Ritman University, Akwa Ibom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prof Akan Williams emerges VC, Ritman University, Akwa Ibom, <!-- no image -->,  <\/p>\n<p>Professor Akan Williams has been appointed the 2nd substantive Vice Chancellor of Ritman University, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.<\/p>\n<p>Williams, who is a professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, succeeded Professor Celestine Ntuen, the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the institution.<\/p>\n<p>Reading his resume at the inauguration ceremony held on Friday, Prof Williams was said to have risen through the academic ranks and was announced a Professor of Chemistry in December 2017, effective January 1, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the statement issued read, \u201cA specialist in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, Professor Williams has been an academic in the Nigerian University System for 23 years, bringing with him a wealth of experience and commitment to academic excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also joining the new management team were deaconess Faith Emmanuel, a substantive Registrar, and Dr Joseph U. Igligli, who assumed office as the 2nd substantive University Librarian.<\/p>\n<p>The visitor of the University, Senator Emmanuel Ibok-Essien, who spoke at the ceremony commended the outgoing management for its service and expressed confidence in the capacity of the new team to consolidate on the gains recorded and advance the university\u2019s vision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dI want to seize this opportunity to appreciate the outgoing management team for its dedication and selfless service to the institution.
