{"id":14686,"date":"2025-10-20T07:00:39","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T07:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edumarkng.com\/news\/asuu-strike-nigerian-lecturers-in-talks-with-fg-highlight-progress\/"},"modified":"2025-10-20T07:00:39","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T07:00:39","slug":"asuu-strike-nigerian-lecturers-in-talks-with-fg-highlight-progress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/edumarkng.com\/news\/asuu-strike-nigerian-lecturers-in-talks-with-fg-highlight-progress\/","title":{"rendered":"ASUU strike: Nigerian lecturers in talks with FG, highlight progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ASUU strike: Nigerian lecturers in talks with FG, highlight progress, <!-- no image -->,  <\/p>\n<p>The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, said it has kicked off negotiation with the federal government over its ongoing industrial action.<\/p>\n<p>The union disclosed this in a Strike Bulletin No. 2, issued by the National Strike Coordinating Committee (NSCC) and signed by Dr Christopher Piwuna at the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>This comes as ASUU announced a two-week warning strike on Monday last week,<a href=\"https:\/\/dailypost.ng\/2025\/10\/14\/asuu-strike-grounds-academic-activities-in-nigerian-universities\/\"> which grounded activities in Nigerian public universities.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In an update, the union said its members are united and resolute in their industrial action.<\/p>\n<p>According to ASUU, progress has been made in some areas, including the release of third-party deductions, payment of promotion arrears, mainstreaming of Earned Academic Allowances (EAA), resolution of issues surrounding the confiscation of the University of Abuja land, and the victimisation of members at Kogi State University (KSU), Lagos State University (LASU), and the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur members have shown exemplary commitment to the struggle.
