{"id":17230,"date":"2026-02-26T01:48:26","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T01:48:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edumarkng.com\/news\/anthony-joshua-crash-driver-case-adjourned-to-march-13\/"},"modified":"2026-02-26T01:48:26","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T01:48:26","slug":"anthony-joshua-crash-driver-case-adjourned-to-march-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/edumarkng.com\/news\/anthony-joshua-crash-driver-case-adjourned-to-march-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Anthony Joshua Crash Driver Case Adjourned to March 13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anthony Joshua Crash Driver Case Adjourned to March 13, <!-- no image -->,  <\/p>\n<div class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\"><\/div>\n<p>The driver of the car involved in a fatal crash in which Nigerian-born former world\u00a0\u00a0heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua was injured has appeared in court again\u00a0\u00a0in Sagamu.<\/p>\n<p>The 46-year-old driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, appeared at Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun State on Wednesday, when the case was adjourned until 13 March.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors told the court they needed further time to prepare evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Kayode who was driving Joshua when their car crashed, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, reckless and negligent driving, driving without due care, and driving without a valid driver\u2019s licence.<\/p>\n<p>Kayode, who was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cew8jxze027o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">making his second appearance at court,<\/a>is yet to enter a plea.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua\u2019s personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, died on 29 December after their vehicle collided with a stationary lorry on the Lagos- Ibadan Expressway.<\/p>\n<p>The former British world heavyweight champion, 36,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c8989e1wnj2o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">was treated in hospital<\/a>for his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua was discharged from hospital two days after the Lexus SUV crashed on the busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
