The Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) says no fewer than 107,180 primary school pupils sat for the 2026 common entrance examination into junior secondary schools across the state.

The Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Professor Haruna Musa, disclosed this while inspecting examination centres at Fagoji Primary School in Dutse.

According to him, the Board established 180 examination centres across the state to ensure that candidates sat the examination in a conducive and accessible environment.

Professor Musa warned teachers against engaging in any form of examination malpractice, particularly by assisting candidates with answers, stressing that pupils should be given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and knowledge.

He cautioned that any teacher found aiding examination malpractice would face appropriate disciplinary action.

The SUBEB chairman noted that the common entrance examination was being written by pupils from both public and private primary schools across Jigawa State.

He commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the examination and expressed confidence that the results would be released without delay.
